Wordmatter is the one-man-band writing company of Ben Morris.
I specialise in software technical documentation for mobile developers, and write tech papers, articles, books, videos and web casts, and a few other things besides.
You can find my latest Android tech papers and videos at Vodafone developer. Watch that space for upcoming papers on Rich Comms with Jibe.
Other recent work includes developer guides and how-tos for the Marmalade 6.0 and Web Marmalade SDK, API reference and guides for Nature Publishing, and web content for Penrillian. My JIL/WAC widgets series is still available at Vodafone developer.
I work with and program in C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, and a few more exotic languages, and cover mobile platforms including Android, HTML5/WAC widgets, Samsung's bada OS, Symbian, and Marmalade.
My book for Samsung was the first official developer guide to the bada mobile platform. You can find the BuddyFix app I devised for the book in the Samsung Apps store. It's now open sourced, so you can get your hands on the code too.
Way back when, I wrote the Symbian OS Architecture Sourcebook for Symbian Press, contributed chapters to the Symbian OS Design Patterns book, and wrote developer content for pre-Foundation Symbian Ltd, UIQ, Symbian signed, and Samsung Mobile Innovator in its early days as a Symbian shop.
Alongside client documentation projects, I run my own app and publishing projects.
And to keep life in balance, you'll find me toiling part-time in the tiny vineyard at Cascina Giron, in Piemonte, Italy, pursuing my 100-case wine project. Not living the dream so much as working it.
